Senior fun day

Today the senior school had a fun day to celebrate the year of leaning. there was 6 fun activities to do I did 5 of them there was playing in the pool, outdoor games, STEM creations, create a christmas gift, slip and slide and cooking. The best one was the slip and slide with Ms Nelson because it was fun sliding done it with my friends. 

2018 athletics practice

On Wednesday 24th of October the senior school had athletics practice. My class did high jump with Mrs Nelson it was a lot of fun she taught us how to jump. When you jump you lift your arms to get more air and to get over the bar. When we jump we do a scissor kick and land on your feet or bum.

Next we did shot put with Mrs Hunter it was a lot of fun. We lined up into line boy one girl. She taught us how to throw the shot put we put the shot put in our hand we bring the shot put up to our shoulder and push it not throw it.

By the end of the year I need to practice my division facts to help me in the future with math's I can lean on math whiz and at home and in class.

In reading I need to practice vocabulary/ language features also I can learn by practicing at home and in class.

In writing I need to practice using a variety of ambitious vocabulary to help make my writing more interesting in the future.

Forced perspective

 On Friday I did photographer In room 2 with Mrs By. It was fun we made it like we have big feet. We did the photography on iPad's. The photography was call forced perspective. We also made it like we have a big bag and somebody holding on to the side of it. It was fun to do but it was hard to get all the adjustments and getting the camera angle right. We also did some other ones like putting your head down and putting your head on table.

STEAM

On the 31st of July the senior team had game's on. I did mbots you controller the bots by Coding. It was a bit hard getting it up and running but in the end we did a race. When Ariel and I did the race we won. And with the mbots there is a marble mbot that you have to pick up the marble's and put it in the container. How you use it you have a conter to controller it.

Hei tiki

 

On June 26th 2018 my class went on a trip to the Rotorua tea rooms to learn about the Hei Tiki. The class got to make our own Hei Tiki to take back with us to school.  We got to learn about a very special lady who became a famous guide. She could speak english and maori. We got to experience really old Tiki'
 from the Museum. We had to wear gloves and handle them with a pillow and lots of care.

Monopoly

On the 21st on Thursday the whole class made adopted games. My group made monopoly cars we made it out of paper and then we printed pictures and cut them out and glue them onto a piece of paper. On Friday it was the last day We cut out some more money and photocopied it. In my group was Ariel,Aarav and I.

   

jelly maths

On Monday we started to put jelly into a cup and we had to measure the complicity of it. We did how mast we wanted to put in but we had a limit my limit was 200mls we had four jally. In the first one I put 40mls in it was red was the first colour. How we measure it was we had a sule cup and it had like 40mls in it

War poem

A person going off to war, Frightened to die, Confused what to do. Walking towards the field to fight,gun fire’s going off Map where to go, Blood watring everywhere. Wet muddy trenches to sleep in, Stories letters going back’n’ford to soldiers love one. Darkness from the bombs,Tears from soldiers who have died in war,Sad for fallen soldiers in actions,Horrible to see. Stuck trying not to get shot,Friends to talk to when not fighting,Thunder Darkness So they can't see Nervous Not to die by the foes,Going to hell weak if you don't have a gun.

Oprah

On Monday the 30th of April New Zealand Oprah came to St Mary's School to perform Jax’s and Nemo's fish 'n' chips. The performance was all done by singing there were 5 people in the ACT one was a teacher It was First  performed in Italy 1832. My favourite person in the  performance was Samson/Dulcamara because he tick the Mansase Latu with l&p. The play was 45 minutes. `

The Resurrection

The Resurrection is when a miracle happened Jesus Christ rose from the dead. This happened 3 days after Jesus died on the cross and then got carried into the tomb they put a rook over the tomb so people can't get in but some one got in. Mary and Jesus friends went to the tomb and he wasn't there and Mary found The cloth. Jesus rose and said do this in memory of me.

Art canvases

This is the art canvases that is going to be displayed at the Redwoods Children's Day.

How it was made? the first got dye when we dab the dye on the canvases that made a cross then we did it all around the canvases. The next day we got leaves and Painted them on the canvases and let them dry.

All about me bag

This is my me bag what I took it to school to share. The ball shows what sport I play soccer it is my favourite sport to play in the winter. I went to America I really enjoyed the theme parks I visited LA, Las Vegas, San Diego. In San Diego I went to a old aircraft carrier from the army. I went on a P&O cruise to islands and I made a friend and we enjoyed gaming.
